24 - Comic Images (USA)

In time for the start of season three on Sky TV in the UK, Comic Images has released trading cards based on the award-winning drama thriller '24'. The new set consists of 90 basic cards which are split up into a number of sub-series. Cards 2-36 feature photographs of individual characters from '24' on the fronts, with accompanying text profiles on the back. Cards 37-60 are dedicated to the first season of '24', with one card for each hour episode. Cards 61-84 are of the same format but this time feature details of the 24 episodes making up season two. A sneak peek at season three and some behind-the-scenes cards round off the set.

Three different types of insert card have been created for this collection, these being Moment of Truth foil cards (six to collect, 1:12 packs), seven autograph cards and six memorabilia cards. In our box, we found two complete basic sets, three of the foil cards, one autograph card (A3, signed by series actor Carlos Bernard) and one Memorabilia card (M5, which features a piece of Victor Drazen's Prison Uniform).

As with other Comic Images releases, the company has produced a storage binder for the set. This comes supplied with a six card uncut sheet. Four promo cards (numbered P1-P4) were produced as a means of advertising the set prior to its release. P1 was produced exclusively for a variant cover issue of Non-Sport Update magazine. Comic Images has done an excellent job at capturing the excitement of the '24' television series and we cannot wait to see whether there will be a follow-up set.
