Terrorist Trading Cards - U.S. Trading Cards (USA)

Terrorist Trading Card number 59: The U.S. Capital Building

A new manufacturer has produced a series of cards to remember the tragic events of September 11th and to bring attention to those individuals involved in terrorist activities. Terrorist Trading Cards, from U.S. Trading Cards, is available to collectors as a complete 80-card factory set. Each premium card features gold foil and belongs to one of a number of sub-series, which include black and white portraits of terrorists, information on those who have played an inportant role in the fight against terrorism, details of the September 11th events and photographs of famous American landmarks.

Terrorist Trading Cards is one of a number of sets available that focuses on September 11th and no two sets adopt exactly the same approach. "We not only wanted to show in our cards what we thought of terrorism as a whole, we wanted to supply what we feel is the truth", recalls Mike Fielden of U.S. Trading Cards.

The reaction to September 11th card sets from collectors has been somewhat mixed. A visit to the message boards on U.S. Trading Cards' own site shows that their series has attracted its fair share of controversy. Collectors should perhaps, however, reserve judgement until they have seen the cards for themselves, since this is a well researched set. A second series of cards, of a similar format to this set, is being planned. "We will no longer be able to think the conflicts the U.S. engages in will always end up on foreign soil", comments Mike. "Now it is in our backyard - and it is important that we never forget it."
