NostalgiCards to release new sets this autumn
October sees the launch of two new trading card collections from independent US manufacturer NostalgiCards. More Morbid Monster Cards is a follow-up to the highly-acclaimed Morbid Monster Cards, which was awarded second place in the "most creative set" category of Non-Sport Update magazine's 2000 Gummie Awards. The new 36 card set features brand new monster creations from artist William Bristow, together with "loathsome limericks" describing each of the monsters depicted. As well as the basic cards, collectors can expect nine blood foil cards (one included in every eight card pack) and hand drawn sketch cards (1:24 packs).

NostalgiCards' second release, Galaxy Goons Series 1, features intergalatic cartoon artwork from Micheal Bruinsma, with the drawing style being similar to that seen in the classic Hot Rods sets of the 1970s. As with More Morbid Monsters, the Galaxy Goons collection is made up of 36 basic cards. Nine puzzle cards (again inserted at a rate of one per seven card pack) and hand-drawn sketch cards (1:24 packs) are also being produced.
Both More Morbid Monster Cards and Galaxy Goons will be sold in display boxes containing 24 packs, with production on each set being limited to 300 boxes. Although collectors in the UK may have difficulty obtaining the cards through their usual trading card dealers, details of how to order the sets directly from NostalgiCards can be found on the company's web site, with international shipping rates available on request.
