Cardlings Series One - Cardlings (USA)

New US manufacturer Cardlings recently released its first series of trading cards. Cardlings Series One takes the form of a boxed set of 30 regular-sized cards, featuring characters from the world of mythology. Included are creatures such as the centaur, gargoyle and vampire. Despite these characters strong having associations with CCGs such as Magic: The Gathering, Cardlings is keen to point out that their set has no gaming component and that the cards are designed purely for collecting. The great colour artwork in this set has been produced by Justin Morenz, who also wrote the poems describing each of the creatures that can be found on the card backs.

Of the thirty cards packed in each box is one chase card. The chase cards depict 'Familiars' and there are four in total, these being Cat Familiar, Owl Familiar, Raven Familiar and Wolf Familiar. We found the raven inside our pack.
